At the office of Dr. David Miraglia, we use the Waterlase® dental laser system to provide our patients with the clinical precision and optimal comfort they deserve.

HydroPhotonic™ Technology

The Waterlase® system utilizes a patented technology that combines YSGG laser energy and the spraying of water, that we call HydroPhotonics™. This system allows Dr. Miraglia to perform a variety of dental procedures on a patient's teeth, gums, and bone with ease.

Decrease in Shots & Less Anesthesia

The use of Waterlase® also means that Dr. Miraglia will need to administer fewer shots and less anesthesia, allowing a patient to rest easy. This tool allows him to cut teeth, gum tissue, and even bone with less pain to the patient. Procedures can be executed without the need of traditional tools, such as a scalpel or drill. Dr. Miraglia will determine what course of treatment is best for the patient and their individual needs.

Dependable Technology, Comfortable Care

The use of lasers is nothing new in the medical world. They have been used for a variety of surgical and cosmetic procedures, including LASIK, hair removal, and more. In 1998, the Waterlase® system was approved to be used during hard tissue procedures, and has since been deemed acceptable for a variety of other dental procedures.

Patient Care & Comfort

The use of a traditional dental drill causes heat, vibrations, and pressure. These are a few of the reasons why a patient may feel pain during or after the procedure. The Waterlase® system is able to cut gums, bone, and more without generating heat, vibrations, or pressure; meaning the patient will not suffer as much pain during the process. This system also lowers the chance of bleeding, post-op pain, swelling, and post pain medication.

Dentistry with Precision

Dr. Miraglia is able to use the Waterlase® system to remove tooth enamel decay with ease, while leaving surrounding areas unaffected. This means Dr. Miraglia is able to help patients achieve a healthy, clean mouth while suffering from less pain.

Less Dental Visits

Because Dr. Miraglia will not need to administer so many shots or anesthesia, a Waterlase® visit can allow cavity preps to happen in all areas of the mouth in just one visit! Also, it means that many procedures that were generally referred out to specialists can now be done with Waterlase®.

Range of Uses

The Waterlase® system can be used for a variety of dental procedures. Whether you need decay removed, a root canal, bone surgery, or cavity preparation, Waterlase® administered by Dr. Miraglia can help. Call our office today to see if you're a good candidate for Waterlase®!

The panorex is a panoramic scanning dental x-ray system that allows Dr. Miraglia to clearly identify a range of dental issues in a patient's mouth. Panorex works by having the patient sit in a chair with their chin on a small ledge. The machine is then positioned and will rotate around the patient's head while taking a full 360 degree view of their teeth, head, sinuses and bones.

For Dr. Miraglia to be able to see the patient's whole head as a scan means he can make decisions that are much more informed and helpful for the patient. From structural issues and infections to asymmetry issues, the panorex will allow Dr. Miraglia to catch all of these and more. This is extremely helpful when an issue is in it's early stages, so necessary steps can be taken to stop it before it becomes a larger problem.

Digital X-ray

With a digital x-ray, Dr. Miraglia can produce an instant image for determining your dental health conditions and more. The images can be saved electronically and show great detail of a mouth unlike past photos that had to be developed. The image can then be used to look closely at the teeth and surrounding areas with a high level of accuracy. A digital x-ray also uses 80% less radiation compared to standard x-rays of the past.

Oral Cancer Screenings

When it comes to your oral health, it is important to have an oral cancer screening during your appointment. With such advances in dental technology, Dr. Miraglia is able to pinpoint the beginnings of potential oral health issues.

An oral cancer screening is administered using an ultraviolet light that allows your doctor to view any problem areas that can't always been seen with the human eye during normal conditions. It is also important to understand the impact some lifestyle choices can have on your oral health, such as smoking, heavy drinking, and more. Make sure to get a regular oral cancer screening when you visit Dr. Miraglia so you know for sure that your mouth is 100% healthy!

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera allows your doctor to take a close look at your mouth from all different angles. A monitor will show what the camera is viewing. The area is then enlarged, enabling Dr. Maraglia to further examine any existing oral disease, the patient's teeth, and surrounding tissue. This enhancement allows Dr. Miraglia to determine the most favorable treatment plan for long term stability and function.

Rotary Endodontics

Endodontics, also known as root canal therapy, is the treatment where Dr. Miraglia will remove the root or nerve of a tooth. This treatment is necessary when a tooth becomes so infected that it causes pain in the patient's mouth. With rotary endodontics the root canal is completed using an electrical handpiece. This tool cuts down treatment time and allows Dr. Miraglia to complete the process with ease.
